The night's fabulous programme includes:

18.00: Galo Ceron (Spanish classical Guitar) serenades the gathering audience: fresh drink and wine available.  

18.30: Allan MacDonald leads platform party into the reference Library.

18.35: A Celebration of the Centenary of the birth of Sorley MacLean: a Gaelic poet greatly influenced by the events of the Spanish Civil War. Filmmaker Timothy Neat and Gaelic singer Dr Margaret Bennett pay homage to a great European. Special reading by distinguished Scottish actor John Cairnie

19.00: Luis Cernuda - the Man, the Poet. The Hispanic Festival is proud to host a special lecture by the Spanish poet, author and critic, Antonio Rivero Taravillo, from Sevilla - the leading authority on the poetry of Luis Cernuda. Cernuda came to Britain as a refugee from war. He lived and worked several years in Glasgow. where he wrote Ocnos, one of his best known pieces of work. Cernuda is one of the most original poets of Twentieth century Spain and a great European artist.

19. 50: Questions and Answers - chaired by María Conte.

20. 00: Break

20:05:  Alison McMorland and Geordie McIntyre sing Scottish Songs with strong Spanish connections.

20.25: Paco Ferdandez's Flamenco Comapny from Sevilla welcomed to the stage and to Edinburgh by María Conte.

20.40 Allan MacDonald plays his new composition, 'A Salute to Somhairle MacGilliean', before leading the platform party from the Hall.
